10:00- 14:30 WORKSHOP (registration required) DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY. Given by Carlos Fadon.
Holder of an MA in Arts (Art and Technology) from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1989). He works in digital image and photography, with additional studies in telecommunication. The workshop looks at the question of self-portrait in photography. It includes the presentation of a brief overview of the presence of this art form in culture, an analysis of its basic principles and strategies of image construction, illustrated by a number of examples. An example of selfrepresentation by the participants is also included.

20:30 DOCUMENTARY - I'M UGLY BUT TRENDY. 60 minutes, by Denise García. Documentary on the carioca funk movement with light satire on the social and cultural conditions in the favelas, or shanty-towns of Rio de Janeiro and the class estructure.

DemoKino is a virtual parliament that through topical film parables provides the voters (participants) with the opportunity to decide on issues that, paradoxically, have become the essence of modern politics: the major subjects of life. Viewers vote in favour of or against the result. Motion and the result of the voting determines which subject is examined next. Thus the private geography and daily routine of the protagonist are determined by the audience in a series of referendums.

21:45 AUDIO-VISUAL SHOW - ZEN TV I. Compilation of the best videoclips published by the independent British record label Ninja Tune. Set up in1991, it is at the forefront of all types of innovations related to electronic music. Considered as a forerunner of trip-hop and abstract hip-hop, the label’s groups and artists include Coldcut, The Cinematic Orchestra, Amon Tobim, DJ Vadim and The Herbaliser. ZEN TV DVD: A Retrospective of Ninja Tune Videos brings together on video samples of their work. Their unusual visual universe has won them major international prizes.

22:30 AUDIO-VISUAL SHOW - Ollie Teeba, DJ from the Herbaliser group, on the Ninja Tune record label, together with visuals by Gregorio Viera, visual Sets reflecting the search for new languages new textures and visual poetry.
