It will run through and explain “State of the Art” techniques and technology used, taking into account certain fundamental aspects, like the adquistional process of context/surroundings and the different ways in which a system can know its positioning, and be absolutely or relatively coordinated with other systems.

It will also talk about the different technologies involved in “Locative Media”, such as mobile/cellular telephones, PDAs, Networks and GPS. Throughout the seminar, examples of multimedia pieces that these techniques and technologies use, will be demonstrated and analysised. Finally, as a means of conclusion, the seminar will reflect on the narrative possibilities of the projects involved in “Locative Media”
